Sainsbury's, Ludlow

Long standing CTD Architectural Tiles client Sainsbury's recently opened a brand new superstore in the Shropshire town of Ludlow; the first time they have had presence in the area. The design and construction of the store makes it Sainsbury’s most energy efficient supermarket to date, using 30% less energy than a similar store would have three years ago.

CTD Architectural Tiles were on hand to supply a time proven tile specification, with a strong focus on preventing slip resistance and the required durability to support high foot traffic.

In the Produce section, Arkitekt Dotti Anthracite was supplied in a bespoke 300x300mm structured profile, providing customers with a contemporary, slip resistant shopping space.

The in-store Bakery floor was furnished with 150x150mm Sicodur Grau Mix technical porcelain tiles, skirting and angles, with Swedeglaze White 150x150mm ceramic tiles on the wall, with contrasting dark grout for a classic look.

The 200x200mm size Arkitekt Dotti Speckled Light Grey Matt tiles proved an ideal choice for the customer WCs, with the structured option being used in the disabled WCs for a functional, hazard free environment.

CTD Architectural Tiles Sales Director Andrew Sadler was delighted to work with contractors Simpson York and tilers Arvin & Sons on the project, where technical porcelain combined with some classic wall tile coverings created a pleasant and workable environment for colleagues and customers alike.
