Starbucks, Battersea Power Station

We’re delighted to have helped create an iconic industrial look for the new Starbucks coffee house located in the heart of London’s revamped Battersea Power Station.

The once derelict Grade II listed building and surrounding area has been reinvented as one of London’s most exciting retail and leisure destinations, with a host of cafés and eateries including the popular Starbucks brand. The new store at Battersea Power Station fuses industrial elements with Art Deco style, and incorporates a stunning floor tile package.

The main floor area features the grey-brown Fango tiles from the Grecale range, manufactured by Refin. This stone-effect glazed porcelain tile is inspired by the imperfections and texture of windswept limestone, with a seamless blend of light and dark spots creating a stylish uniform finish. Specified as a large format 600 x 600mm tile, Grecale is durable, easy to maintain and offers a high slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions. Thanks to its suitability for use in high-traffic hospitality areas, Starbucks has chosen Grecale as its main floor covering for its UK stores.

Our involvement in the creation of Starbucks’ new store at Battersea Power Station builds on our long-term relationship with the global coffee house chain. Prior to this contract, we have worked closely with 23.5 Degrees, Starbucks’ first UK franchised business partner, to provide the commercial tile package for over numerous stores and drive-thru outlets in the UK since 2013. Although each Starbucks store boasts its own unique design inspired by its locality, the commercial wall and floor tiles used are chosen from a carefully curated suite of products, all of which we are proud to supply.
