Cersaie 2019 - Key Trends

CTD Architectural Tiles recently attended the annual tile show Cersaie in Bologna, Italy. Cersaie offers ideas to stimulate creativity and design through original and evocative exhibiting formats. We report direct from the Cersaie Tile Fair to provide insights into the new trends and products coming from Italy.

BOTANICALS

Botanical Tile range with variety of patterns and prints available

A key trend we found a big focus on this year is the use of botanicals, whether it is leaves or flowers, all are welcome. The beauty of this trend is the variety of patterns and prints available, these are an excellent way of introducing bright colours and bold patterns to your decor.

Amazonia features two shapes, square and hexagon, and a range of five on trend colour tones that can be easily combined with each other and used to cover both floor and walls. You’ll find rainforest greens, golden browns and terra cottas, all beautifully combined for instant elegance.

COLOUR

Amazonia shapes beautifully combined for instant elegance

One tile trend sees us move from cold, modern to bold, strong colour choices. From yellows, to greens and blues, adding colour to interiors with our range of porcelain and ceramic tiles can really influence the whole space and uplift the mood.

Our Swedeglaze range with its 40 different colours and outstanding technical specification make it functional, flexible and practical. This bright and bold collection is one that will make a statement in any room.

TEXTURE

Texture Tiles Inspired shapes by lights and shadows

More tiles are showing up with three-dimensional or sculpted surfaces, making them textured and tactile. They are the perfect addition to a more neutral look as they add just a bit of texture and interest to any space.

Shapes is inspired by light and shadows, this range is an innovative 3D collection symbolising simplicity and luxury. The basic colours of Shapes compliment the geometric shapes leaving a fresh and contemporary style. The versatility of the pieces in this collection, when placed in different positions or combined with each other, provide endless possibilities.

GEOMETRIC PATTERN

GEOMETRIC PATTERN Wall Tiles

Geometric patterns are everywhere! The geometric trend is still big this year with new shapes and variations. Using patterned tiles within a scheme draws the eye and can make a great statement. Create infinite tile designs by combining different sizes and colours, or using tiles with geometric lines. With many sizes, formats and colours, this design can liven up an otherwise characterless space. One particular shape that is popular is the hexagon. Hexagonal tiles return in all sizes, colours, and textures, especially on floors, where they create a unique, and aesthetic look.

Our Cuban & Havana range, inspired by traditional cement tiles comes in a 223x223mm format in different shades of white, grey, blue, black and green. With geometrical shapes and other designs, the same tiles from this range can be combined in different ways to create startlingly different aesthetics.

TERRAZZO

The terrazzo style is still dominant this year in all imaginable shapes and colours! The redesigned terrazzo style is both bold and versatile. Featuring dazzling displays of speckled colours, terrazzo is durable, decorative, hardwearing and long lasting.

Our Stracciatella range is a reinterpretation of the classic terrazzo, ideal for all types of spaces and style. The strength of Stracciatella is the way it can effortlessly create an impression and is a great choice if you are looking for an alternative terrazzo effect tile for your project.

DRAMATIC STONE

Stone effect tiles Cersaie 2019

The texture of stone never goes out of fashion. This niche tile market is always full of collections deserving particular attention. However, this year the marble trend is one to watch out for. The timeless grey and white shades as desirable as ever. Marble gives a beautiful and luxurious look to your interior, becoming the focal point of any room. Stone marbling effects can also be reproduced through digital printing on porcelain with colourful veins simulating nature’s most spectacular works of art.

Luxury large format marble effect tiles, our Marmori range offers a semi polished wall tile at 1200x600 and a coordinating matt floor tile in 600x600. This range is able to deliver a dramatic scheme within most budgets.
