Three Mile Inn, Newcastle upon Tyne
The Three Mile Inn hotel, restaurant and pub is a much-loved landmark in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, offering a comfortable nights’ stay and a stylish place for friends and family to meet over drinks and food expertly cooked using fresh, local ingredients.
This iconic venue’s recent refurbishment drew inspiration from the local area and its history and CTD Architectural Tiles were excited to be an integral part of the big transformation. The brief was to capture the essence of a boutique hotel with a sense of a little something different. 64 fully tiled luxury en-suites in technical porcelain with a chic design were achieved using our Pietra Pienza Light Grey and Dark Grey tiles on walls, alongside Kursaal Rust on the floors in the Standard rooms. For Superior rooms, our Earth Grey and Anthracite wall tiles were paired beautifully with Cuban White Star for the floors, all tiled by The Tiling Co Northern.
An eyecatching brick style floor design to the main bar area was achieved using Dark Brick tiles from our Bristol collection, together with Traffic Anthracite and White structured floor tiles and beautifully contrasting Eden Ottanio metro tiles on the bar walls. The stunning atrium floor was finished beautifully with our striking large format 1000x1000mm Terra Greige tiles, whilst Metro Bevelled Black and Tabula Cappucino completed the look nicely in the bar’s pizza area.
For the bar WC’s, the client wanted to achieve a classic bar style look with a feature colour / band and a monochrome finish to the floors. To accomplish this look, walls were tiled using our Crackle collection of gloss tiles in Aspen and White colourways, with Traffic Anthracite and White structured tiles on the floors.
Our CTD Architectural Tiles Senior Sales Manager Sean Lane worked with BXB Interiors (Bar, restaurant and WC’s) and the Malhotra in-house Design Team (hotel) along with PCN Northern Construction to complete this project.
