Crowne Plaza - Newcastle upon Tyne
CTD Architectural Tiles longstanding collaboration with IHG continued with the prestigious Crowne Plaza Newcastle - Stephenson Quarter, only minutes away from the energetic city centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. This flagship project was made extra special given that it was carried out just a stone’s throw away from CTD Head Office.
This luxury 7 story building, filled with 251 state of the art bedrooms, en-suites, reception area, restaurant, specialised gin bar (Newcastle's first hotel gin bar), conference rooms with 445 capacity & its very own leisure facility, all of which feature CTD Architectural Tiles.
CTD worked with both Space Architects and Main Contractors Galliford Try to supply on trend tiles which easily transcend from season to season.
Commenting on the project, CTD Architectural Specification Manager Sean Lane says "It was a pressure project given the importance of the whole Stephenson Quarter regeneration in the city. We just had to get it right and looking back, it is really satisfying to have successfully managed the different needs and wants of architect, main contractor and tiling contractor to deliver a full specification on time and on budget for the client."

Fitted by P Plunkett Tiling, All en-suites & WC's within the Crowne Plaza Newcastle have been tiled using CTD Freestyle, CTD Galaxy Glass and CTD Contract tiles.
Their elegant colour combinations work effortlessly together to create a tranquil & minimal look that works well in both large and small spaces. CTD Mortar has been used within the main entrance of the Crowne Plaza Newcastle. Designed to complement the Crowne Plaza's key feature chandelier, CTD Mortar tiles flow naturally across the ground floor, connecting the bar, reception and restaurant areas.
CTD Pool Mosaic & CTD Mino tiles have been used to create the Crowne Plaza Newcastle's luxurious leisure facilities including jacuzzi’s, swimming pool surround, treatment rooms and shower facilities.Our CTD Glass Mosaics used within the Crowne Plaza Newcastle treatment rooms have been strategically placed to for an elegant twist on a classic splashback design. CTD Mino flow throughout the Crowne Plaza Newcastle's shower & the swimming pool facilities, creating a subtle design effect.
Crowne Plaza Newcastle's attention to detail is paramount throughout each floor. Going above and beyond in order to add quirky design features, Crowne Plaza Newcastle have taken inspiration from CTD Architectural tile prints, transforming them into breakfast menus, rugs and wallpaper.
